The clowns line up nicely on a slab of slate.
Note the female convict/severum/parrot facnig away is all colored up. Spawning is imminent.

This Rubbernose Pl*co was in our 120 with a few others, but we decided they would do better in our 90 where they proceeded to spawn. Photo taken March 6, 2001.

This shot from November 13, 2001 shows how much the smaller female Cichlid Parrot (NOT Blood Parrot) colors up prior to spawning.
They also become fiercely territorial at this time and the pair will defend their brood until they can no longer keep them from roaming.

It's obvious that the Parrot Cichlids are taking over at this point...
The white tubes are from one of our Vortex diatom filters which rotate to whatever tank needs one the most.

One of the first Parrot Cichlid broods in the 120 on July 17, 2001.
We already had several other Parrot broods in rearing tanks. We were running out of space fast...

This Electric Yellow Lab is the daddy of numerous broods. He can't get along with anyone in any tank so he's all alone in a 15 right now.
