30 Long Bedroom Aquarium Photos
We had two 10 Leaders and a 55 set up downstairs and the 30 was gathering dust in the basement. We thought it might be nice to be able to relax in bed and watch fish so out came the 30 Long.
I had done a "fishless cycle" on the 55 using plain ammonia and no fish to establish its biological filter before our 10 Leaders even had a cycle. Since those 3 had cycles I figured I could get this one up a ready for fish in a matter of a week using filter media for the others
Boy was I wrong. It was ready in a matter of hours. I thought there was something wrong with the ammonia test kit until I saw readings with a nitrite test, which soon disappeared as well. It was very close to an "Instant Cycle" which we later perfected.
We immediately called around looking for Tiger Barbs and soon we had it fully stocked with Barbs and Tetras. Later they all moved to the 75 Barb tank and our young Angels were moved in. In the Summer of 2002 the Angels moved into the 90 and about 250 Angel fry which we had hatched moved in. As of December of 2002 there are still 60 of the smallest Angels left in it along with at least 30 Aenus Corys we have rasied from eggs.
