About The 75 Barb
The 75 gallon Barb tank was set up in January of 2001 mainly as a replacement for the 55 that we lost a few weeks earlier to help separate different species. It soon became the "Barb" tank as the tank they were already in was becoming too crowded for them so we set this tank up so we could use theirs for fish that had survived the 55 disaster. The substrates remained the same but with much less sand initially added. The background is what was on the 55. It was our way of "remembering" the fish and the tank that we lost. It also sits where the 55 was. The plants and the rocks are the same as with the other tanks. We try to design all of our tanks differently than the others yet keep them as natural looking as possible.
The Occupants
Currently we have several Regular Tiger Barbs, a few Albino Tiger Barbs, Rosy Barbs, Bleeding Heart Tetras, Serpae Tetras, Juli Corys, Bronze Corys, 2 Rubbernose Plecos, what we refer to as Parrots and 5 juvenile Electric Yellows are kept in this tank on a temporary basis.
